DOE's Morgan Lewis Hire Not All Kosher: Inspector

Law360, New York (April 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy did not properly document its decision to award a $100 million contract to Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP to help prepare a license application for the Yucca Mountain underground nuclear waste depository, according to the agency's inspector general.

In a report released Thursday, the inspector general said that Morgan Lewis had a conflict of interest in the matter because it represented utilities with claims against the DOE regarding the acceptance and disposal of spent nuclear fuel.
