Longview Should Scrap Its Ch. 11 Plan, Contractor Says

Law360, Wilmington (March 26, 2014, 7:43 PM EDT) -- One of the contractors that has been locked in conflict with Longview Power LLC over hundreds of millions in mechanics' liens on Wednesday objected to the coal plant operator's request to extend its Chapter 11 plan exclusivity period, unless the debtor scraps its plan and goes in a new direction.

In a motion before the Delaware bankruptcy court, Kvaerner North American Construction Inc., which filed a $242.2 million mechanic's lien against the debtor before it filed for bankruptcy, argued that Longview already received in January an extension of the time during which it is the only entity that may put forward...
