Lawyer Loses Appeal In Partnership Dispute

Law360, New York (April 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Louisiana attorney has lost an appeal in his fee dispute with the law firm where he worked on lucrative tobacco and asbestos liability suits.

On Wednesday, the Court of Appeal of Louisiana, Third Circuit, affirmed a lower court’s ruling dismissing a suit brought by Michael Garber against the firm he had once worked with, Badon & Ranier, and its owners Kenneth Badon and Drew Ranier, ruling that the trial court had rightfully tossed out Garber’s claims that he had a joint venture and special partnership...
