Legislature OKs Constellation Energy Settlement

Law360, New York (April 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Maryland State Legislature has approved legislation that will finalize a pending settlement with Constellation Energy worth $346 million in credits and $187 million in rebates to the company's residential customers in the state, if signed by Gov. Martin O'Malley.

The deal resolves litigation about legislation that the Maryland General Assembly passed in 2006, which required Constellation to pay $386 million in consumer credits.

The state filed a suit earlier this year in Baltimore City Circuit Court against Constellation, Baltimore Gas and Electric and Calvert Cliffs...
