U.K.'s Energy Watchdog Probes Scottish Power Cos.

Law360, New York (April 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.K.'s Office of Gas and Electricity Markets has launched an investigation into alleged antitrust violations by Scottish Power Ltd and Scottish and Southern Energy Plc, the watchdog said Tuesday.

The British energy regulator said in a statement it has initiated a probe under the Competition Act after receiving a complaint that the power companies were abusing their position in the electricity market.
