CORRECTION: $23M Verdict In LifeNet Case Upheld

Law360, New York (April 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. federal court has shot down calls by the nation's largest tissue bank for a new trial in an intellectual property dispute and has ordered the nonprofit organization to pay almost $23 million for treading on patents owned by rival LifeNet Inc.

On Thursday, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia denied the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation's post-trial motions for judgment in its favor and awarded LifeNet the multimillion-dollar damages set by the jury in the patent infringement case.
