Abuse Victims Object To Milwaukee Archdiocese's Ch. 11 Plan

Law360, New York (April 7, 2014, 3:25 PM EDT) -- Creditors and sexual abuse victims of the bankrupt Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee slammed the its Chapter 11 reorganization plan in Wisconsin bankruptcy court Friday, calling it a “morally repugnant” attempt to shield church assets from the victims.

Attorneys for the official committee of unsecured creditors and a group of hundreds of sexual abuse survivors filed an objection in the Eastern District of Wisconsin picking apart the archdiocese’s plan, saying it does far too little to compensate victims of sexual abuse at the archdiocese.
