New Accusations Implicate UBS in HealthSouth Scandal

Law360 (February 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The shareholders at scandal-ridden HealthSouth Corp. have launched fresh allegations against Wall Street powerhouse UBS, accusing a handful of brokers of aiding and abetting the accounting fraud that brought one of the nation’s largest health care providers to its knees.

The new action came in response to UBS filing a motion to drop the firm as well as its former and current employees from a lawsuit pending in Birmingham federal court.
