Kidnapped Employee's Suit Not Arbitrable: D.C. Circ.

Law360, New York (April 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Parsons Global Services Ltd. has lost its fight to compel arbitration of a suit brought by an employee who was kidnapped and tortured in the Philippines and alleged that the company bungled the ransom demands.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday found that the engineering and construction firm had waived its right to move the dispute to arbitration.
