Conn. High Court Tosses $41.4M Jury Verdict

Law360, New York (April 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Supreme Court of Connecticut has overturned a $41.4 million jury verdict awarded to a construction worker who was paralyzed after being struck by a steel beam.

In an opinion released Monday, the court ruled that the defendant, general contractor Sordoni Skanska Construction Co., did not have a nondelegable duty to inspect all welds at the site but rather a duty to provide for such inspections.
