Regulator Takes Deeper Look Into Textile Deal

Law360, New York (April 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission said Monday that it has opened an in-depth investigation into Italian-based textile manufacture Itema Group's proposed $113 million acquisition of a unit of Barco NV.

The EC's initial market investigation raised serious concerns about the fact that the parties have a vertical relationship in the market for essential textile machinery.
