FERC Affirms Market-Based Rate Rules With 1 Change

Law360 (April 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has largely affirmed an order designed to reform the agency's market-based rate rules and strengthen competitive wholesale power markets.

The 386-page order, released late Monday, was first issued in June and clarified in December. Among other things, the new rules will help identify market participants who have the potential to exercise market power to the detriment of consumers, according to FERC.
