FERC Asks For Comment On Annual Charges

Law360, New York (April 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission asked the public for comment on Thursday on whether its method of charging public utilities to gain annual regulatory funds was fair or whether it should adopt a different system.

FERC currently funds its electric regulatory program largely by charging public utilities annually. It bases its charges on the volume of electricity transmitted by the public utilities that provide transmission services.
