Digital TV Dispute Could Tempt FTC, Experts Say

Law360 (April 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Will the U.S. Federal Trade Commission jump into a standards-setting dispute that could affect the country's upcoming conversion to digital television? Since recent cases involving standards-setting organizations have turned up more questions than answers, many lawyers are watching the FTC closely.

“There's been a lot of antitrust ferment around standard setting,” said Howard Morse, co-chair of the antitrust practice at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. “Rembrandt certainly pushes the envelope just a little further.”
