Ala. Court OKs Joint Trials In Drug Pricing Suit

Law360, New York (April 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a boost to Alabama, the state's Supreme Court reportedly ruled Friday that some of the defendants could be tried jointly in a lawsuit accusing a slew of drug companies of overcharging the state's Medicaid program.

The Alabama Supreme Court granted the state's bid to combine some of the cases, paving the way for trial to kick off in June in a suit against two of the companies, Novartis AG's pharmaceutical division and SmithKline Beecham Corp., the Associated Press reported, citing Montgomery attorney Jere Beasley....
