Fla. High Court Nixes Nursing Home Patient's $900M Award
Law360, New York (May 12, 2014, 7:22 PM EDT) -- The Florida Supreme Court on Friday upheld a lower court's reversal of a $900 million jury ruling against Trans Healthcare Management Inc. and its former parent company, rejecting former patient Joseph Webb's appeal on jurisdictional grounds.
The state's highest court said it reviewed the parties' briefs and relevant parts of the record but offered no further explanation in its one-page order and said it would not consider a motion for rehearing.
