Supreme Court Mulls Class-Of-One Claims Issue

Law360, New York (April 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Allowing public employees to assert equal protection claims for adverse personnel decisions would chill government decision-making, government attorneys warned the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday.

However, a Georgetown University Law Center professor told the court that preventing such claims would deny public employees their constitutional right to not be discriminated against by their employers without a legitimate government purpose.
