SEC Subpoenas Novo Nordisk In Oil-For-Food Probe

Law360, New York (February 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Already tangled up in the scandal surrounding the United Nations’ Oil-for-Food program in Iraq, Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk A/S has now been subpoenaed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to produce documents detailing its involvement in the program.

Novo Nordisk will cooperate fully with the SEC’s investigation and comply with the terms of the subpoena, the company announced Monday.

The SEC declined to comment on the matter.
