Trademark Applications Go Gaga For 'Green': Report

Law360, New York (April 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Environment-friendly trademark applications took the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office by storm last year, boosting the total number of applications to a new record of 300,000 filings, according to a law firm report.

Dechert LLP, which issued its annual report on trademark trends on Tuesday, said “green” was the most popular trademark last year, and companies also sought to align themselves with the words “clean,” “earth” and “planet.”
