FTC Revamps Merger Review Process

Law360, New York (February 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission has announced an ambitious plan to revamp its merger reviews to speed up a process that has become increasingly laborious for both the agency and the companies involved.

The move is designed to “streamline” merger investigation methods that have, in recent years, become increasingly burdensome to the staffs of both companies and the government because of advances in information technology.
