Alaska Rejects ExxonMobil's North Slope Plan

Law360, New York (April 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Alaskan officials on Tuesday rejected Exxon Mobil Corp.'s latest plans to develop the Point Thomson natural gas field on the North Slope, despite warnings that another setback would indefinitely delay the development of a trans-Alaska pipeline.

Exxon's proposal, the 23rd plan proposed by the oil giant, involved a $1.2 billion gas recycling and condensate production project that would be developed over a span of six years. The project would produce 200 million cubic feet of natural gas per day by late 2014, Exxon said.
