IP Litigators Can Cost $1,200 An Hour

Law360, New York (May 28, 2014, 8:04 PM EDT) -- Corporations are forking over a king's ransom to wage intellectual property battles as the top litigators in the practice area are charging up to an eye-popping $1,200 an hour, according to a survey released Wednesday.

While partners and senior partners who bring portfolio management and counseling services to the table typically bill from $500 to more than $900 an hour, those handling more routine trademark and patent prosecution bill in the range of $300 to $600 per hour, according to the new Billing Rate Reference 2014 report by Law360 and BTI Consulting Group Inc.
