White House Urges Haste On Student Loan Bill

Law360, New York (April 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bush administration officials are urging members of the U.S. Senate to take quick action on green-lighting a bill aimed at ensuring that students' access to federal college loans remains open and secure even when lenders struggle to stay afloat.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said Wednesday that the Senate should “act promptly” on the legislation, which cleared a U.S. House of Representatives committee earlier this month.
