AOL, PurchasePro Ex-Execs Dodge SEC Claims

Law360, New York (April 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a development defense attorneys are painting as a resounding defeat for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a jury decided Thursday that two former executives of America Online Inc. and Inc., respectively, were not liable for any of the claims leveled against them by the SEC.

Following a seven-week trial, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia found that the SEC had not proven its claims against former AOL Business Affairs executive Kent Wakeford and ex-PurchasePro Chief Technology Officer...
