Eli Lilly's 'Restless Leg' Drug Permax Hits The Skids

Law360, New York (April 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following in the footsteps of Pfizer Inc.'s Mirapex, a second drug to treat restless leg syndrome has been targeted in a product liability suit, this time Eli Lilly & Co.'s Permax.

The suit, removed by the drugmaker to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi on Thursday, alleges Permax causes heart valve damage, and Eli Lilly knew it, or should have known it.

The case was first filed in a Mississippi state court by plaintiff Barbara Shows and names Elan Corp., Amarin Corp....
