FDA Proposes Funding Plans For Animal-Drug Reviews

Law360, New York (April 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has asked Congress to consider recommendations for two funding programs for the evaluation of new and generic animal drugs.

The Animal Drug User Fee Act would fund the review of new animal drug applications for the next five years. And the Animal Generic Drug User Fee Act would fund the review of generic animal drug applications as well as maintain existing safety and effectiveness standards, the FDA said on Friday.
