Early Approval For Flonase Generic Puts Glaxo In A Bind

Law360 (February 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A surprisingly early approval by U.S. regulators of a generic version of allergy treatment Flonase prompted GlaxoSmithKline Plc to rush to the courthouse this week, securing a restraining order that in effect also stopped shipments of its own authorized generic version.

Par Pharmaceutical Cos. abruptly halted its shipments of a generic version of Flonase after Glaxo Plc won a temporary restraining order against a generic version of the $900-million drug in a district court on Thursday.
