Exxon Among Least Transparent Energy Firms: Study

Law360 (April 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp., Lukoil and China National Petroleum Corp. are some of the least transparent oil and gas firms when it comes to releasing information about payments they make to other countries for extracting their resources, according to a study released on Monday.

The three companies, along with Devon Energy Corp., INPEX Corp., Kuwait Petroleum Corp. and others, ranked the lowest in transparency with regard to operations outside their home country in a study of revenue data that companies have made publicly available.
