Sparrows Point LNG, Pipeline Plan Gets Initial OK

Law360, New York (April 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has found that a proposed liquefied natural gas shipping terminal in a port outside Baltimore and a pipeline stretching into Pennsylvania will not impact the environment substantially enough to disqualify their construction.

FERC issued its draft environmental impact statement for the proposed facilities, together known as the Sparrows Point LNG and Mid-Atlantic Express Pipeline Project, on Friday, after consulting with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the commission announced....
