Defendants Renew Dismissal Bids In Natural Gas MDL

Law360 (April 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Four energy companies embroiled in multidistrict litigation over an alleged conspiracy to fix wholesale natural gas prices have renewed their motions for dismissal, arguing that discovery has shown they weren't involved in the actions of their accused subsidiaries or affiliates.

CMS Energy Corp., Duke Energy Carolinas LLC and Reliant Energy Inc., each of which is a parent company of a natural gas marketer, filed joint motions Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada to dismiss the claims for lack of personal jurisdiction....
