Lawmakers Push FDA To Detail Needed Reforms

Law360, New York (April 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials faced tough questioning Tuesday from lawmakers seeking to craft legislation aimed at bolstering the power of the regulator and avoiding a repeat of the drug scare over the blood thinner heparin.

The blood thinner has been linked to 81 deaths and numerous allergic reactions.
