Iberdrola Charges EDF With Nuclear Power Monopoly

Law360, New York (May 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Spanish energy company Iberdrola SA has taken aim at one of its French rivals, lodging a complaint with the European Commission claiming that French energy company Electricite de France has a monopoly over France's nuclear power production.

In a complaint filed on Friday with the EC, Iberdrola claimed that the French government has recently passed measures that give EDF an unfair advantage in the nuclear power sector.
