Goodyear Sues Alleged Cartel Of Rubber Makers

Law360, New York (May 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A slew of rubber producers already facing hefty fines in Europe for running an alleged rubber cartel are now facing similar allegations from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, the largest tire manufacturer in North America.

Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear on Friday filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against Dow Chemical Company, Shell Chemical LP and others, accusing them of fixing prices for butadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber used to make tires and other engineered rubber products.
