Groups Seek To Block Seismic Surveys In Alaska

Law360 (May 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Alaskan native and environmental organizations sued two U.S. government agencies on Monday, alleging that they prematurely gave permits to Shell Oil Co. and British Petroleum Plc to look for oil in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas, threatening marine life there.
