WIPO Clears Boston Scientific Of Infringement

Law360, New York (May 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After more than two years of international legal wrangling, a United Nations arbitration panel has ruled that Boston Scientific Corp.'s coronary stents do not infringe on Israel-based Medinol Ltd.'s patents, the U.S. corporation announced Monday.

The World Intellectual Property Organization's arbitration panel found that Boston Scientific's Liberte and Taxus Liberte stents, which are medical inserts that help keep clogged arteries open, do not infringe on any of the various U.S. and European patents held by Medinol.
