ITC To Probe Alleged Ink Cartridge Ban Violations

Law360, New York (May 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will investigate whether two Asian importers and their related U.S. companies violated an exclusion order that barred them from importing goods found to infringe on Seiko Epson Corp. patents for ink cartridges.

The ITC instituted a formal enforcement proceeding on May 1 to determine if the companies – Ninestar Technology Co. Ltd. and its U.S. subsidiary of the same name; Ninestar customer Town Sky Inc.; Mipo America Ltd.; and Mipo International, Ltd. – violated the commission's exclusion and cease-and-desist orders.
