Lawmakers Grill Pharma Execs Over Drug Ads

Law360, New York (May 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Top drug company officials were grilled by a U.S. House of Representatives panel Thursday over growing concerns related to television ads that market drugs directly to consumers.

Officials from Pfizer Inc., Johnson & Johnson and Schering-Plough Corp. defended three television ads that have stirred up controversy in recent months: Pfizer's ads for Liptor, Schering-Plough's ads for Vytorin, and J&J's campaign for anemia drug Procrit.
