EC To Simplify Medical Device Legislation

Law360, New York (May 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission is looking to update and simplify its legislation regulating the medical device industry and is seeking stakeholder input on the socio-economic impact of any proposed changes.

The EC announced Thursday that it planned to take on the simplification of its medical device legislation that was initiated in 2005 but never came to fruition. The commission is hoping to incorporate three directives that currently oversee the industry, the regulator said.
