Apple, Samsung, Others Hit With Photo Sharing IP Suit

Law360, New York (July 17, 2014, 4:35 PM EDT) --  An image distribution patent holder sued Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., LG Electronics Inc. and other tech giants on Wednesday, alleging infringement of the patent through sales of the companies' smartphones.

Florida-based Rothschild Storage Retrieval Innovations LLC claims in the suits that sales of smartphones, including Apple's iPhone, Samsung's Galaxy, and LG's Nexus, infringe on the technology by giving users the ability to share groups of photos based on their geographic locations.

Other companies hit with suits alleging infringement of the patent include Sony Mobile Communications Inc., Motorola Mobility LLC, Nokia Corp., and HTC Corp.
