NTP Prepares For Battle At "Flawed" USPTO

Law360, New York (March 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Without missing a step, patent holding firm NTP Inc. is preparing for its next offensive, this time at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where the patents at the center of a dispute with BlackBerry maker Research in Motion continue to face intense scrutiny under reexamination.

A lot depends on the outcome, despite the fact that NTP already settled its long-running patent infringement battle with RIM for a cool $612.5 million. The deal marks the fourth, and most-lucrative, licensing agreement for NTP.
