Wind Can Be 20% Of U.S. Electricity By 2030: DOE

Law360, New York (May 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy released an in-depth report Tuesday that anatomizes wind power capabilities and envisions harnessing wind power to provide up to 20% of the country's total electricity needs by 2030.

The report — titled “20 Percent Wind Energy by 2030” — analyzes U.S. wind resources and current wind power capacities. It also explores the different ways the ambitious objective can be achieved.
