Appeals Court Upholds Patent Verdict For Genlyte

Law360 (May 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has upheld a lower court's decision that Arch Lighting Group Inc. infringed a patent held by rival Genlyte Thomas Group LLC for ceiling-mounted light fixtures.

Judge William Bryson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said Wednesday that the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts had ruled correctly in upholding a jury verdict for Genlyte and rejecting the motion by Arch Lighting, also known as ALS, to toss the verdict.
