Gazprom Inks First Major North American Deal

Law360, New York (May 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- OAO Gazprom will import the full liquefied natural gas terminal capacity of a proposed $842.5 million re-gasification facility in Quebec set for operations in 2014. The agreement marks the Russian energy behemoth's first major North American investment.

The three companies that are partners in the Rabaska project have inked a letter of intent making Gazprom's U.S. subsidiary Gazprom Marketing & Trading USA Inc. an equity partner and contracting with it for 100% of the import terminal's capacity, the companies said Thursday.
