Drugstores Join Chocolate Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Drugstore operators CVS Pharmacy Inc. and Rite Aid Corp. joined a host of other plaintiffs last week in a multidistrict case accusing major chocolate makers of conspiring to fix prices in the U.S.

The lawsuit, first filed in March in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and transferred to multidistrict litigation on May 12, targets Cadbury Schweppes Plc,Hershey Co., Mars Inc., Nestle SA, Itwal Ltd. and a number of their subsidiaries and affiliates in the U.S. and Canada.
