Boston Scientific Curiously Withdraws Then Refiles

Law360, New York (March 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- With takeover plans moving full steam ahead, medical device maker Boston Scientific Corp. has voluntarily withdrawn and refiled an antitrust notification regarding its $27 billion bid for heart device maker Guidant Corp.

Boston Scientific announced the news on Monday, though the company said the curious move was only a “procedural step” in keeping with a previous agreement signed with Guidant.
