Judge Nixes Class Bid In Honeywell Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Vermont court made headway in a prolonged antitrust suit Thursday, denying class status to consumers and summary judgment to Honeywell International Inc., the company accused of abusing a monopoly in the market for circular thermostats.

Judge Theresa S. Dimauro of the Orange Superior Court was unpersuaded by Honeywell's argument for summary judgment but supported the company's claims that the retailers involved in selling the circular thermostats were too numerous to allow for class status.
