Judge Finalizes $2.25M Cardia Settlement

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A $2.25 million settlement has brought to a formal close the four-year-old infringement action against Cardia Inc. over a patent related to the correction of a heart defect, plaintiff NMT Medical Inc. announced Monday.

Judge Joan N. Ericksen entered the consent judgment and order of dismissal with prejudice May 9 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Boston-based NMT said the agreement calls for Cardia to dish out the settlement sum over the next several months to NMT and plaintiff Children's Medical Center...
