Sony Determined To Appeal $90.7M Verdict

Law360, New York (March 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pressing on with the fight, Sony Corp. has vowed to continue appealing a patent infringement ruling that would force the electronics giant to pay rival Immersion Corp. $90.7 million, only days after a federal judge tossed a Sony request to overturn the verdict and order a new trial.

“We have already appealed to a U.S. Court of Appeals [for the Federal Circuit] and procedures there are under way,” said a Sony spokeswoman on Tuesday, noting that the company has no present plans for an out-of-court settlement....
