Wal-Mart Settles Refusal-To-Shred Retaliation Suit

Law360, New York (May 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has settled a lawsuit filed by a former employee alleging that the retail giant retaliated against her for refusing to shred documents that were evidence in a fraud case.

In an order Friday, Judge Robert T. Dawson of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas dismissed the case brought by Rita Miles against the world's largest retailer.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed and lawyers on both sides of the case did not immediately respond to requests for comment...
