Group Threatens Legal Action Over Nanotubes

Law360, New York (May 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The International Center for Technology Assessment said Wednesday it planned to take legal and regulatory action over carbon nanotubes, citing a new study that suggests the asbestos-shaped cylinders could cause the same pathogenic behavior as asbestos.

The nonprofit organization, which assesses and analyzes technological impacts on society, said such action was necessitated by the study, published Tuesday in the online edition of the journal Nature Nanotechnology.
